Moviegoers Loved the Pirates Friday

The pirates came out at midnight on Thursday to get a first look at Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, collecting about $4.7 million.
Internationally, On Stranger Tides has brought in $44.2 million in just two days. That's approximately $4 million more than what 2007's At World's End.
But for the domestic box office the Johnny Depp starrer brought in about $35 million on Friday.
Elsewhere at the domestic box office on Friday, Bridesmaids is still holding at second place. The R-rated female comedy brought in $6.3 million. In third place is Thor bringing in about $4.4 million. Next in fourth place is Fast Five, earning $3.1 million. Rounding out the top five was Priest 3D, which brought in around $1.5 million.
Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, which opened the Cannes Film Festival, brought in about $170,928 from six theaters for a per location average of $28,488.
