White Lion is directed by Michael Swan and stars Jamie Bartlett (Prey, Beyond Borders) and John Kani (The Ghost and the Darkness, Endgame). The story is about a young Shangaan named Gisani finds himself destined to protect a rare and magnificent white lion cub named Letsatsi who is cast from his pride and is forced to survive on his own.
After many perilous adventures young Letsati befriends Nkulu, an older lion who teaches him how to survive in the harsh African wilderness. With Nkulu's help, Letsatsi grows from a young and naive lion cub into a magnificent adult. But before he can take over his rightful place as the REAL lion king, Letsatsi must face his greatest challenge - a trophy hunter- for whom legends are worthless and rare skins priceless.
White Lion looks like a movie for the whole family. It was nominated and won at the SAFTA Awards for Best Cinematography/DOP in a feature film (Michael Swan), Best Music Composition in a feature film (Phillip Miller) and Best Sound Design in a feature film (Ivan Millborrow, Nicky De Beer and Charlotte Buys).
