Brad Anderson's Vanishing on 7th Street
May 22nd 2010 05:19
Brad Anderson directs a post apocalyptic drama which looks like it has a cultivating feel. Vanishing on 7th Street stars Hayden Christensen and John Leguizamo.
The movie is about a mysterious, seemingly global blackout that causes countless populations to simply vanish, leaving only their clothes and possessions behind.
A small handful of survivors come together in a dimly-lit tavern on 7th Street, struggling to combat the apocalyptic horror. Realizing they may in fact be the last people on earth, the darkness gradually comes in on them as they grapple with the truth.

Film & TV on DVD
This sounds very run of the mill, like a remake of several Twilight Zone/Outer Limits episodes but the name Brad Anderson (Session 9, The Machinist) offers some hope.

Movie Roar
With Hayden Christensen and Thandie Newton, it just might be worth the hope it needs.
I never saw The Machinist, but it's name appears on the movie websites here and there.

I'm not a fan of Anakin, though "Shattered Glass" wasn't bad. As for Thandie I have never seen her in anything impressive.
The Machinist and Session 9 are both quality thrillers, even if Session stars one David Caruso

Movie Roar
I loved Shattered Glass, great story. I didn't recognize Haden at first.
Did you see him in Awake?
I believe Thandie was in one of the MI movies, which I liked.
Her break out film was mystic movie produced by Oprah. It was not one of my favorite movies.
