Three Stooges Flips Around
August 14th 2009 01:02
At the Nantucket Film Festival Paul Giamatti spoke of his plans on playing Larry in the Three Stooges movie. This adds an interesting twist to the Farrelly brothers’ project because we know that Jim Carrey will play Curly and Denicio Del Toro also adds a spicy dimension playing Moe. Originally, it was announced that Sean Penn would play Larry, but he is on an indefinite sabbatical with his family
As of late, Giamatti is taking over the part. Yet I am having a hard time visualizing Giamatti as Larry. That’s why I am saying it adds a twist to the Three Stooges Movie. Giamatti seems more like a Curly or Moe, but I guess there is nothing wrong with casting against type. Don’t misinterpret what I am saying. Giamatii is a fine actor. He’ll do great at whatever he sets his acting talent toward. I am just thinking of the physical aspect of the character. The more I think about it the more I find it interesting.
The casting story came from Boston.com and that same article says that Jim Carrey is off the project as well. Who will play Curly? My first thought is Giamatti. But then, who will play Larry? It's too flipping confusing.
The casting of the Three Stooges will get sored out. When it does, the trades will let us know what is official.
