Speedy Gonzales Developing to Big Screen

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Speedy Gonzales is coming to the silver screen by way of New Line.
Speedy Gonzales is the fastest mouse in Mexico. Just his name brings back memories of famous lines he’d say to us, which I can’t spell or write. He says them so fast. How did Mel Blanc do that voice!?
George Lopez is pegged to be the voice for the speedy mouse. Lopez is also producing. The movie is being scripted by Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen. They worked on Toy Story if that rings a bell.
The film will be a mix of live action and CGI and is set to take place in the present day.
