Pitt Holmes Villian?

THR reports that Brad Pitt is the subject of blog rumors appearing in several shots of Sherlock Holmes as Moriarty. Also, reported is that Pitt has been talking with producers to star in Holmes as Moriarty in the next installment that is currently in development. But no deal has transpired yet.

A Robert Downey, Jr. and Brad Pitt with Jude Law is an entertaining idea that would cost big dollars to get on the silver screen. I am all for it and hope the story of Holmes doesn’t get lost in the limelight.

The essence of Holmes was long gone by the time the initial press releases began to circulate, I'm afraid. I'd much rather invest my time revisiting the superb Jeremy Brett series than waste it on a boiled-down Indiana Jones wannabe production.

Over.Exposure
It's been pretty clear all along the direction they were taking with this 'adaptation', and the trailer released a while ago merely confirmed it. I'm a big fan of the Holmes fiction, and this film is simply diverting from it too much to be anything but an insult to adherents of the source material.
