Teaming Up for the Perfect Script

While doing research for another project at the city library I came across the book Script Partners: What Makes Film and TV Writing Teams Work (Wiese) by writing team Claudia Johnson and Matt Stevens. I thumbed through the 280-paged book reading bits and pieces. I found myself becoming more and more aware of the subject as a fascinating piece to read and apply to my writing career because I never really thought about writing with a partner, but the book changed my way of thinking. Why not write with a partner?
“It may be a cold world out there for screenwriters, but one of the best ways to stay warm is collaboration,” dutifully stated by the book authors sums up the whole subject of why one should write with a partner.
Writing a screenplay is not easy. We screenwriters now that; it’s hard work and conventional wisdom says it takes five to ten screenplays before you finally sell one. Then, it’s even harder to produce, so “why not collaborate” is the mantra of this book. At least you’ll have some one your side looking out for your interests.

The key is to find someone that works well with you not against you in the sense: not keep obligations, whinning, apathetic and so on.
Two writers working together is a dynamic. Thus, together should produce the desired product.
I must admit it's a pleasure to be able to bounce ideas off someone else which results in a great story/script.
Billy Wilder could do it; "Face Off" script, Mendes new film has a husband and wife team.
