Public Enemies -- Stunning Scope of Work

I watched Public Enemies the other night and found Johnny Depp transformed as Dillinger and Christian Bale as Melvin Puris. The authenticity of the period and locations of Mann’s filming is phenomenal. The cast is unbelievably in rank and talent.
I must admit that I am surprised the film didn’t do better at the box office because the film is stunning scope of work. Of course, we all know what happens at the end, but the irony of the movie Dillinger was watching before his fatal ambush – Manhattan Melodrama, starring William Powel , Clark Cable and Myrna Loy, about a gangster (Clark) who must face his own demise after being a harden criminal.
I was captivated by the movie and delve into the bonus features, discovering more information about Dillinger’s popularity and the public’s glorification of his dead body.
Public Enemies is here as a two-disc Special Edition Blu-ray Hi-Def, two-disc Special Edition DVD, single disc DVD and digital download from Universal Studios Home Entertainment.
