Production Set for Coppola's On the Road

It’s been a long haul for both Walter Salles and Francis Ford Coppola’s adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s 1957 novel “On the Road.”
Kerouac typed the manuscript on what he called "the scroll”, a continuous, one hundred and twenty-foot scroll of tracing paper sheets that he cut to size and taped together. The roll was typed single-spaced, without margins or paragraph breaks. The novel is viewed as an essential work of the postwar Beat Generation that was stimulated by jazz, poetry and drug experiences.
Of late, it looks like Salles and Coppola’s perseverance will pay off in the long run. Kirsten Dunst has now joined the cast, which includes Kristen Stewart, Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund.
Stewart, Riley and Hedlund have stuck to the project through its long evolution, in some cases for a couple years, according to Variety.
Salles and Coppola acquired the rights three decades ago. Coppola will produce and Salles will direct. Shooting starts in August 2010.

Movie Roar
I remember Dunst when she was a child actress in the board game movie with Robin Williams. What is the name of that movie? How do you spell it?
