Modern Day Looney Tunes Brings Back Memories
January 6th 2012 06:21
I am always exited to pop another Looney Tunes DVD in to my player. This one from Warner Bros. is called The Looney Tunes Show Season 1 Volume 2 – kids of all ages just love these when they were classic cartoons. Every time I watched the classics, I’d ask myself, “Why don’t they make cartoons like this anymore?”
I was entertained watching each half-hour animated comedy show starring Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck is no longer confined to 7-minute classic shorts that I am so fond of. Instead, we watch Bugs and Daffy living in the suburbs among such colorful neighbors as Yosemite Sam, Granny, Tweety and Sylvester.
I must admit the cartoons are a little to modern for my taste, but they are entertaining for the little ones. In addition to each episode’s main story, The Looney Tunes Show also features “cartoons within a cartoon.” The Tasmanian Devil, Speedy Gonzales, Marvin the Martian and other classic characters sing original songs in two-minute music videos called Merrie Melodies . Below is a clip of one of the music video.
Warner Bros. is promoting that the legendary Looney Tunes cartoons as getting a 21st century relaunch and a CGI overhaul for a new generation. But, I still miss the classic cartoons that made them so famous.
