Gibson and DeCarpio in Viking Movie

Mel Gibson and Leonardo DiCaprio will work together for the first time ever on a Viking movie with Gibson directing and DiCaprio takin on a Viking role. The period piece is untitled and set in the culture of Vikings. The script is being worked on by William Monahan who wrote The Departed that DiCaprio starred.
Shooting is anticipated to start in the fall of 2010, denoting the next directing endeavor for Gibson.
Apparently, the principals are confirmed for the project, yet nothing is being reported. However, DiCaprio, who has long been fascinated by Viking culture, is definitely playing one in a storyline that will be as full of the Viking culture as Gibson’s other period films such as Braveheart, The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto.
