Goodbye Solo, a Powerful Story
August 20th 2009 06:11
I just saw this movie and liked it. I am not a movie reviewer per say, but I'll offer my opinion for whatever that is worth. There is a uniqueness to this film, which the director, Ramin Bahrani, captures in silent, yet powerful moments of friendship and finality. Two very different men meet and become friends. The men embark on a journey of self-discovery that changes them forever.
The silent moments of the lead character, Solo, drew me into his life. I wanted to know more about his culture, if his forthright, honest to goodness humanity comes from his culture and upbringing. What makes him such a caring man?
Goodbye Solo won International Critics Prize at the 2008 Venice Film Festival.
I will be conducting a giveaway at Screenhead.com if you are interested in winning this DVD.
