Helen Mirren's Prime Suspect, Brenda Blethyn, James Nesbitt, and Martin Clunes from Acorn Media is out on the Blu-ray and DVD shelves -- such an extraordinary British series.
I am running a joint giveaway with MobileWhack for a DVD copy of Prime Suspect Season 1.
Prime Suspect is the first series of the famed British series, the original groundbreaking and starring Helen Mirren, with guest stars Ralph Fiennes and Tom Wilkinson.
D.C.I. Jane Tennison (Mirren) is a skilled, superior detective, struggling to prove herself in a male dominated world. Investigating a murder, her strength of character and skills as a detective are examined as she reveals a cover-up within the force. And, a second murder victim is discovered. The inquiry turns into a macabre investigation extending back more than ten years.
Here is the first season of the start of a long running series that gave Mirren fame and a jump into a film career that awarded of an Oscar.
It should be noted that the new American version starring Maria Bello is now on American television on NBC.
