July 29th 2009 18:47
Charlize Theron's production company, Denver and Delilah Films, now owns the screen rights to Christopher Buckley's satirical novel "Florence of Arabia." Theron will produce and develop the film, so she can star in the film as well.
The adaptation from the novel to a screenplay will be done by Dean Craig.
"Florence of Arabia" concerns a fictional State Department employee (Theron), after watching her friend marry the prince of a Middle East country and then get executed, decides to fight for equal rights for the women of that country. Only to be disabused by the financial underlying cause of the whole situation.
