Falling Skies Takes You on a Rocket Ride

Below is TNT's first trailer for Falling Skies, its new sci-fi series starring Noah Wyle and executive-produced by Steven Spielberg. It looks good if you can handle the commercial time.
The Oscar-winning director co-conceived the project with screenwriter Robert Rodat, who earned an Oscar nomination for Saving Private Ryan. The pilot was helmed by Carl Franklin, one of the directors of the Spielberg-produced HBO miniseries The Pacific.
I was fortunate to see the two-hour premiere of Falling Skies about a month ago. It's a rocket ride to say the least. Obviously, with Spielberg's name behind the series, the lots of money went into the special effects and action.
Keep in mind, with all the money spent on the premiere episodes, the cash flow dwindles in the following episodes. The excitment wears off and the action, suspense series turns into a prime time soap opera. I don't mean it in a derogatory way. It's just something to keep in mind, not every episode is going be special effects and action packed adventure.
The Noah Wyle does an excellent job as a widowed professor of History, turning militant dad with a strong composition and a kind heart.
