Burton and Depp Start Shooting Dark Shadows Next Fall

I used to watch Dark Shadows every afternoon after school. It was a very unique daytime soap opera of the late sixties about vampires, ghosts and monsters. They went into past lives, a complete departure from the soap operas we saw then and today. Today this day, I can bring up Dark Shadows to anyone who watched it in the sixties and I’d get an instant positive reaction.
Today, I learn that Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are set to work on making a big screen version of the show. They are planning on starting production next fall. I hope this happens because I believe these two would do the story's theme justice.
But of late, Depp has been attaching himself to lots of different projects. I can only cross my fingers and hope this one gets off the page, in front of the camera and on to the screen.
