Moviegoers Like Hop More at Friday's Box Office

Some of my daughter’s friends have three weeks off from school for the Spring Break, which might explain why the kid’s live action-toon hybrid Hop kicked off the weekend in first place, again. The movie’s Friday's grosses for the holdover brought in about $5.5 million.
The Easter bunny movie is holding its own for the second week while holding at bay four other wide releases. First to those four is comedy Arthur, which earned around $4.5 million.
Next in line, which I find fascinating, is kid-assassin movie Hanna, earning about $4.2 million while R-rated, raunchy movie Your Highness earned an opening day $3.8 million on 2,769.
Soul Surfer came in fifth, rounding out the top five money makers with an estimated $3.7 million.
If you have been following the movie scene, then you know that Randy Brand stars in both Hop (voice of the future Easter Bunny) and Arthur.
