Resident Evil: Afterlife Wins Friday's Box Office

Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D triumphed the box office on Friday with an estimate of $10.9 million while there was a tossup between Takers and The American with Takers slightly ahead with about $1.775 million and The American earning about $1.7 million.
Surprising lift to Drew Barrymore's romantic comedy Going The Distance earned about $1.3 million beating Machete from last Friday's top opening fifth place.
The Last Exorcism arrived at sixth place with about $1 million and The Other Guys also nailed about $1 million.
Finishing it out at the bottom three were The Expendables at about $950,000, Eat Pray Love with about $900,000 and Inception at around $820,000.
