Rossellini Will Head Berlin Int'l Fest Jury
August 30th 2010 18:28
The Berlin International Film Festival jury for 2011 will be headed by Isabella Rossellini.
Rossellini is the daughter of Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman and Italian director Roberto Rossellini. She started out as a fashion designer and journalist. According to THR, her acting debut came in 1976, when she appeared alongside her mother in Vincente Minnelli's A Matter of Time.
Rossellini went on to star in films by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, Robert Zemeckis, Joel Schumacher, John Schlesinger, Peter Weir, Abel Ferrara, Guy Maddin and Peter Greenaway.
In 2008, she presented her directorial debut "Green Porno" -- eight episodic shorts explaining the sexual behavior of earthworms, snails and dragonflies and other insects -- in Forum Expanded.
Rossellini will add a diverse perspective to the jury panel of film festival, and I am interested in finding out the rest of the jury panel for 2011.
