BAFT Honors Hurt Locker 6 Awards

February 22nd 2010 04:47

BAFTA awarded Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker six awards including best film and director. Take note: Bigelow is the first woman to be awarded the BAFTA director honor.

The Hurt Locker DVD is out on the streets. I highly suggest you pick it up and rent it. The movie portrays elite soldiers tasked with defusing bombs in the heat of combat.

Colin Firth took the actor honor Tom Ford's A Single Man. Carey Mulligan took home actress award for Lone Scherfig's An Education.

Pixar-Disney's Up won for animated film and music.

The other awards won for Hurt Locker are original screenplay for Mark Boal, cinematography (Barry Ackroyd), editing (Bob Murawski, Chris Innis) and sound (Ray Beckett, Paul N.J. Ottosson).

Supporting actor and actress honors were handed to Christoph Waltz for Inglourious Basterds and Mo'Nique for Precious.
