Broadcast Film Critics Association Nominations

The Broadcast Film Critics Association came out with their nominated picks for 2008. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Milk top the nominees with eight each. Next, the critics lined up The Dark Knight and Slumdog Millionaire with six nominations each.
The ten best pictures also include Changeling, Frost/Nixon, The Reader, WALL-E and The Wrestler.
An interesting note, Clint Eastwood gained two nominations, one as best actor as an irascible ex-Marine in Gran Torino and as the composer of Changeling, although he missed best director for both films.
The rest of the best actors include Richard Jenkins (The Visitor), Frank Langella (Frost/Nixon), Sean Penn (Milk), Brad Pitt (Benjamin Button) and Mickey Rourke (Wrestler).
For best actress the nominees are Cate Blanchett (Benjamin Button), Kate Beckinsale (Nothing but the Truth), Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married), Angelina Jolie (Changeling), Melissa Leo (Frozen River) and Meryl Streep (Doubt).
The he five nominees for best director are Danny Boyle (Slumdog), David Fincher (Benjamin Button), Ron Howard (Frost/Nixon), Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight) and Gus Van Sant (Milk).
